Xiaomi is working on a new smartphone project called “Zhuque,” which aims to change how we interact with our smartphones. According to exclusive information from a leaker chunvn8888 and reported by Smartprix, Xiaomi is venturing into groundbreaking design territory with its next flagship device which will have no buttons.
This upcoming Xiaomi smartphone aims to stand out with a completely button-less design, potentially offering a true all-screen experience. As per the report, Zhuque which still might be in early development could function though controls such as gesture recognition, pressure-sensitive edges, or voice commands. Additionally, the phone is said to include an under-display selfie camera, a feature that has been pursued by other brands including Samsung.
Internally, Zhuque is expected to be powered by the forthcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 4 processor, also known by its codename SM8775. While details on the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 4 are still scarce, it is anticipated to offer substantial performance improvements over its predecessors.
In addition to the Zhuque, Xiaomi is also working on a tri-fold phone. This innovative smartphone will feature three folding sections, allowing users to expand the screen into a larger display for a tablet-like experience. Xiaomi’s tri-fold phone is expected to introduce a new level of functionality and flexibility, addressing some of the current limitations of foldable technology. The device could include advancements in hinge mechanisms and display durability, two most concerning areas in a foldable phone.
With these ambitious projects, Xiaomi aims to position itself as a leader in smartphone innovation. By exploring both the button-less design of the Zhuque and the tri-fold technology, the company is pushing the boundaries of what smartphones can do and setting the stage for the next generation of mobile devices.
