Xiaomi to launch its first Civi branded smartphone in India — here’s everything to know about it

Xiaomi has started teasing a new phone launch in India. In a first, the Chinese smartphone company is gearing to launch a Civi branded smartphone in the country. Another first will be that it will be the first Xiaomi smartphone in years to launch in the sub-50K price segment. For comparisons sake, it will be positioned between the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus and the Xiaomi 14.

Now, Xiaomi hasn’t revealed the name of the smartphone but it is very likely to be the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro. Xiaomi is teasing “cinematic vision” hyping up the phone’s camera capabilities. A unique thing about the Civi 4 Pro is that it sports Leica optics, making it the first non-Xiaomi number series model to boast of such a setup. Another interesting thing to note about this phone is that, at launch, it was the first smartphone to come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor. In India, Poco will beat Xiaomi by launching the Poco F6 with Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 first though.

The Civi 4 Pro has a 6.55-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Xiaomi claims the display can reach a peak brightness of 3,000 nits and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. The phone features dual 32-megapixel selfie cameras, offering both wide and ultrawide options. On the rear, it houses a triple camera setup: a 50-megapixel wide, a 50-megapixel 2x telephoto, and a 12-megapixel ultrawide.

Internally, the Civi 4 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. It runs Android 14-based HyperOS. The device is powered by a 4,700mAh battery with 67W fast charging. Stay tuned for more updates.
