During the Apple WWDC 2024, Apple announced that now you will be able to record calls on the Phone app and also get their transcriptions.

After recording the call the Apple Intelligence transcribes your call in the Notes app, where you can generate a summary using the new Apple Intelligence AI system. Furthermore, “You can also be able to record and transcribe audio from within the Notes app as well,” Apple added.
Apple shows a new recording option on the Phone app, which displays a soundwave, along with the time you’ve been recording. While turning on the recording option, other call participants will get notified.
It looks like now conversations can become more transparent. With Apple’s new ‘Apple Intelligence’, your conversions stay among your group, maintaining advanced data security.

WIth reports from Apple’s iOS 18 preview page, initially audio transcription will only be available in English, Spanish, German, French, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese, and Portuguese.
From corporate meetings to educational briefing with iOS audio recording to the Phone app, you can get instant transcription of your calls. Imagine you are to provide a last minute briefing, just call your expert colleague and get his explanation transcripted for the briefing! Looks like an upgraded version of digital brainstorming, without the need of spending time taking down notes.
Other new features announced during the Apple WWDC 2024 for the Phone app included a search interface for call history, autofill for a number when you start typing in digits, and the option to seamlessly switch SIM cards, among others.
