Apple has been coming with a lot of development around artificial intelligence (AI), however it might still not be up to the mark. Some internal research suggests that Apple needs to cover a long way in comparison to its competitors. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, OpenAI’s ChatGPT is much better than Apple’s voice assistant Siri . Here’s a look at how Apple is arguably still behind others!
OpenAI VS Apple
Gurman suggested that ChatGPT can outperform Apple’s Siri. Reportedly, ChatGPT gives about 25 % more accurate answers than Siri. In addition to this, ChatGPT could answer 30% more questions in comparison to Siri. These internal assessments have raised questions on Apple’s generative AI technology. Some of the employees believe that the company’s generative AI is two years behind other industry leaders such as OpenAI.
However, in its defense Apple claimed that it will be working to bring more development around AI. For example the latest iPad mini includes hardware capable of supporting Apple’s AI platform, Apple Intelligence. In addition to this other rumors suggested that Apple will bring Meta RayBan like smart glasses with Apple intelligence.
The way ahead
Well Apple has always been known for its advancements in technology and the constant aim to bring developed products for its users. In spite of the advancements it continues to face trolling and is often made fun of. Compared with several other technology giants such as Samsung, Meta and others, Apple often faces backlashes.
So, this is not the first time the Cupertino based tech giant is facing backlashes. Recently, just after the launch of its latest iPhone 16 series, many users complained that there has been significant battery drain issues after upgrading to iOS 18. This eventually led to frustration and disappointment among users. The complaints came from platforms such as Apple Support Communities and Reddit. Some iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 users posted that they are experiencing unexpected battery loss, even used seldomly.
Another example could be the complaints against Apple of not being able to bring features as promised during any launch. For example, during the Apple Glowtime 2024, Apple CEO Tim Cook promised to bring Apple intelligence in its iPhone 16 series, which didn’t take place. The reason behind is the fixed launch schedule that the company goes by. Apple usually scheduled launches during June, September and October. The company is expected to be more flexible with its product launch schedules going forward.
