WhatsApp has announced a new update for chat customisation that will help users personalise their chats like never before. The chat app has launched new chat themes and wallpapers offering a fun way to make your messaging experience unique and personal. These features are being rolled out globally over the coming weeks, the company informed through a blog post.
Whether you want to create a calming atmosphere or add a vibrant touch to your chats, this update gives you full control over how your conversations should look.
What’s the update all about?
The update introduces two main features: chat themes and new wallpapers.
Chat Themes: Now, you can easily change the colour of your chat bubbles and backgrounds by choosing from a range of pre-set themes that adjust both the background and the chat bubbles together. For that extra personalisation, you can also mix and match different colours to create your custom look. The themes are designed to be simple and fun, with a wide range of colour options.
New Wallpapers: The update also brings 30 new wallpapers for you to select from. These wallpapers range from beautiful scenery to fun patterns, so you can choose something that reflects your mood or style.
How will it help?
This update is all about customisation. By allowing users to change both the background and chat bubbles, the new features make it easier to reflect their own unique tastes. For those who use multiple chats or channels, you can apply different themes to each one, making each conversation easy to differentiate from the other.
How to apply new chat colours and wallpapers
To set up the new themes for all your chats, go to Settings > Chats > Default Chat Theme. To customise chats individually, tap on the chat name at the top (on iOS) or use the 3-dot menu (on Android) to find the Chat Theme option. From there, you can select and adjust your choice of theme.
