Apple’s upcoming “Glowtime” event on September 9 is generating significant excitement and buzz around the world. Known for its high-profile announcements and cutting-edge innovations, Apple events consistently capture the attention of tech enthusiasts, industry insiders, and consumers alike.
A decade of innovation
As the iPhone celebrates its tenth anniversary, Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 16. With rumoured advancements in camera capabilities, processing power, and design, the iPhone 16 is expected to be a major highlight of the event.
Beyond the iPhone
In addition to the iPhone 16, Apple is also expected to unveil new AirPods and Apple Watch models. The company is said to unveil Apple Watch 10 with a size upgrade. The new watches are said to come in 45mm and 49 mm.
What might be missing?
Apple carefully curates its event lineup, often reserving some anticipated updates or devices for future announcements. While the iPhone 16, AirPods, and Apple Watch are likely to take center stage at the “Glowtime” event, there are a few rumoured products that may not make an appearance. Here’s a look at the devices that may not make it to the Apple event this time.
iPhone SE 4: Apple is said to launch the fourth-generation iPhone SE early in 2025. This new iPhone SE is rumoured to have a design similar to the iPhone 14, with Face ID instead of Touch ID, a USB-C port, an Action button, and an all-screen display without a Home Button. It will likely have a larger 6.06-inch OLED screen and come with 8GB of RAM, up from the 4GB in the 2022 model. The new iPhone SE might be released in January 2025 or by March in the same year.
M4-powered Macs: Apple is gearing up to launch new Macs with its next-generation M4 chip, which promises major performance and power efficiency improvements over the current M3 chip. The new M4 chip is built using TSMC’s advanced 3nm technology and includes a new display engine. Expected updates include refreshed MacBook Pro, Mac mini, and iMac models. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, these new Macs could be announced in October and released by November. Developer logs show Apple is testing four M4-powered Macs with different configurations: three with a 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU, and one with an 8-core CPU and 8-core GPU.
AirPods Pro 3: Apple is planning to release a redesigned version of the AirPods Pro in 2025, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The new model is expected to feature better audio quality, an updated design, and a faster chip. It might also include new health sensors capable of detecting hearing issues, measuring body temperature from the ear, and improving hearing functions.
Apple TV: Apple is said to be working on a new Apple TV that will feature a faster processor but will keep the same design as the current model. Initially, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman hinted at a 2024 release, but he has since suggested that the update may not come soon.
