Arvid Gustav Lindblad has whizzed past other buzzworthy headlines in the motorsport world. The Indian-origin British-Swedish 18-year-old is now officially a member of the Red Bull sister outfit Racing Bulls squad.
By clinching a spot on the team, he has now become one of the youngest drivers to be graduated to the Formula 1. As he accelerates to formally join the line-up in Australia next year, he will be the third-youngest to have joined the ranks of legendary F1 talents, according to ESPN India.
Who is Arvid Lindblad?
Having only recently turned on the ignition on his Formula 2 debut earlier this year, Lindblad is already jumping ranks. Born on August 8, 2007, in Virginia Water, Surrey to an Indian-British mother and Swedish father, he kicked off his competitive karting streak at Daytona Sandown Park in Esher at the bare age of five.
In 2019, he scored big by becoming a British Cadet Champion. Ultimately, under Formula E legend Oliver Rowland’s mentorship, Arvid Lindblad clinched the WSK Super Master Series in 2020 and the WSK Euro Series in 2021. He was just 13 years old at the time.
His potential started showing early gains as he scored a seat in the Red Bull Junior Team that same year. It was just years ago when Arvid started high single-seater career in Formula Three. After his Macau F4 race victory, he leapt onto PREMA Racing in FIA Formula 3.
“Lindblad embarked on his first full single-seater season in 2023, competing in the Formula 4 UAE Championship with Hitech Grand Prix, where he finished 5th overall and secured his maiden F4 victory,” reads his official profile on the Red Bull Junior Team website.
Here, again, he held his own by snagging a record-breaking triumph by coming the youngest winner in F3 history, thanks to his performance in the sprint race in Bahrain and at Silverstone, all through the weekend.

Officials can’t help but praise new F1 rookie Arvid Lindblad
Currently, Lindblad holds the sixth position in the F2 championship, with an Abu Dhabi round yet to catch wind. He will no go through that round with the sound knowledge that he already has the F1 debut announcement in his pocket.
Although Red Bull isn’t always quick with promoting teens, but they undoubtedly see a spark unlike other in Lindblad’s professional streak. He even had Racing Bulls boss Alan Permane raving, “Arvid’s rapid progression marks him as one of the standout young talents in the sport,” as per ESPN India.
His current F2 Team Principal Adrian Campos Jr was yet another key figure to heap praises onto the young driver for his eye-catching abilities and work ethic. “Arvid is a very strong driver,” said Camps Jr, as per the official Formula 1 website. “When you speak with him you don’t notice he is 17-years-old. That’s his strongest point, he is really mature. It’s like speaking with an old guy who has a 17-year-old body.”
The FIA World Motor Sport Council was one to agree with Campos Jr, as it granted Arvid Lindblad a Super license before his 18th birthday. ” the sole discretion of the FIA, a driver judged to have recently and consistently demonstrated outstanding ability and maturity in single-seater formula car competition may be granted a Super Licence at the age of 17-years-old,” goes the FIA International Sporting Code.
With his new Racing Bulls career thanks to an F1 debut next year, Lindblad will partner with Liam Lawson.
A very special Silverstone Friday for Arvid Lindblad! ✨
