Apple just released its new 24-inch iMac equipped with a 3nm built M3 which came as a long overdue, and the speculations have been about a potential 27-inch iMac. But now it seems that Apple has no plans to come with a 27-inch iMac, an Apple PR representative told The Verge.
Apple’s PR representative Starlayne Meza confirmed the company’s plans. Apple suggests people waiting for a larger iMac to consider the Studio Display, Mac Studio, or Mac Mini, which pair a 27-inch 5K screen with a separate computer, unlike the all-in-one iMac.

The 27-inch iMac was Apple’s top consumer desktop, widely used in various settings, including media companies. However, as it lacked Apple Silicon processors, many creatives switched to alternatives like the Mac Studio, MacBook Pro, or modular desktop PCs.
Apple suggests that the 24-inch iMac with a 4.5K display bridges the gap between the old Intel models (21-inch 4K and 27-inch 5K). However, it uses base model Apple Silicon chips, lacking the high-end Intel processors and discrete GPUs available in the past.

For those needing more power, especially for GPU-intensive tasks, they must explore other Mac options or external alternatives. Additionally, the larger iMac had more ports and an SD card slot, whereas the current 24-inch iMac only offers up to four USB-C ports.
It should be noted that this contradicts the previous reports that a 27-inch iMac with an M3 chip is in the making, however, an official word speaks more than reports or leaks. But, there’s still hope.
