It’s getting harder and harder to ignore Vivo as a serious rival to the Apples and Samsungs of the world. The ingredients? Oh, they’ve always been there. But now, the recipe’s just right. Everything’s perfectly measured, mixed, and cooked to near perfection. Grab a plate—this tech feast is served!

That is the impression you get after spending some time with its latest, Vivo X200 Pro smartphone. Experience with the biggies has taught us, it is unfair to expect breakthrough innovations year on year, especially when it comes to camera capabilities. Then there’s Vivo, doing its own thing, relentlessly.

Vivo has these “ultra” phones that it keeps exclusive to the China market for some reason. A bummer. And that’s not changing anytime soon. So, to counter that—and give Indian buyers a taste of what it can do—it basically took the best feature from last year’s ultra phone and put it inside this year’s pro. That feature is a combination of a high-resolution sensor and apochromatic telephoto lens from ZEISS.

Vivo X200 Pro: Top specs, features, everything else you need to know

The X200 Pro’s headlining feature is the 200MP Samsung HP9 1/1.4-inch sensor that sits behind an 85mm f/2.67 aperture ZEISS APO lens with optical image stabilisation. Optically, it can go as far as 3.7x. But it can also pull 10x effortlessly (up to 100x digitally). Vivo touts its telemacro capabilities, too, for obvious reasons but know that the phone also has a capable 50-megapixel ultrawide with autofocus, giving you wide variety of options to play around with.

That ultrawide is a Samsung JN1, 1/1.27-inch sensor, with f/2.0 aperture and while ultrawides are usually lackluster in most phones, Vivo has a dedicated landscape photography mode to make you more excited about the prospects (it works with the wide and telephoto cameras also). The main sensor is a 50MP Sony LYT-818 (1/1.28-inch/f/1.57 aperture, OIS). The X200 Pro has some stellar video taking credentials. It can record 8K@30fps, 4K@30/60/120fps, 10-bit Log, and Dolby Vision HDR. The front camera is a 32-megapixel also capable of 4K@ up to 60fps.

Being a flagship phone—the best that Vivo makes currently—the X200 Pro bags all the essentials. It has a glass back and metal frame. There is IP69 rating along with IP68. The screen is a 6.78-inch 8T LTPO AMOLED with a 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It can get very bright at up to 4500 nits. Biometrics are handled by an ultrasonic fingerprint reader. Performance is handled by MediaTek’s top-shelf Dimensity 9400 chip paired with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS4.0 storage. Running the show is Funtouch OS 15 based on Android 15 with four years of OS and 5 years of security updates promised. Vivo also went ahead and put a giant 6000mAh battery inside the phone—battery life is just bonkers on this one—with 90W wired and 30W wireless charging support.
