Vivo launched the V40 series smartphones in India today. There are two models, Vivo V40 and Vivo V40 Pro. Both phones have sleek, attractive water-resistant designs, the largest battery on a V-series phone to date, and ZEISS optics. The V40 starts at Rs 34,999. The V40 Pro starts at Rs 49,999.
The V30 series was launched about six months ago. And while the V30 and V30 Pro mostly lived up to the Vivo V-series reputation, there were some major downsides. The V30 Pro in particular got a lot of heat for its aging Dimensity 8200 processor, which Vivo had used three years in a row straight. The lack of stereo speakers and proper IP rating were other caveats. Vivo has fixed those shortcomings in the V40 Pro while bringing ZEISS branding to the relatively lower-end V40. There’s a lot to like about these new phones.
