Instagram is undeniably one of the most popular social media platforms, offering endless entertainment through photos, stories, and posts from friends, influencers, and brands. However, its addictive nature has also led to concerns about its impact on mental health and productivity.
With constant notifications, messages, and the lure of fresh content, it can be easy to lose track of time and become overwhelmed by distractions. To help users regain control, Instagram last year launched the Sleep Mode feature. It is a useful tool designed to reduce interruptions and promote healthier engagement with the app.
How to use Quiet Mode
- Launch the Instagram app and go to your profile by tapping the profile icon in the bottom-right corner.
- Tap the three horizontal lines in the top-right corner to access the menu.
- Select Settings from the list.
- In the Settings menu, scroll down and tap Notifications.
- Under the Notifications section, you will find Sleep Mode. Tap on it to activate.
To turn off Quiet Mode
- To disable Quiet Mode, simply go back to the Settings menu and toggle it off. Your notifications and messages will resume as usual.
How Sleep Mode can help
Sleep Mode is designed to combat the constant stream of notifications that can make Instagram so addictive. By temporarily muting alerts and messages, this feature allows users to disconnect without feeling the need to log out completely. Whether you’re working, studying, or simply need a break, Sleep Mode helps you maintain your focus and mental well-being.
