Update: The news of Galaxy S25 Ultra getting a new colour variant was an error on Samsung’s part, the company has said. The social media posts hyping the launch have since been removed.
Samsung is relaunching the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Well, sort of. The South Korean tech major has started teasing “a whole new shade of style” for the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Marketing materials suggest, it’s the S25 Ultra in “all-new” jet black colour-way. If you’re wondering, doesn’t Samsung already have a “jet black” option for this phone? Yes. But the version incoming, appears to have a glossy finish. Think, jet black from iPhone 7, or the Apple Watch Series 10.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra comes in a bunch of colours. Three of them are variations of black. These are Titanium Black, Titanium Gray, and the online-exclusive Titanium Jet black. But they are all matte. So is every other S25 Ultra colour. This one—Samsung hasn’t revealed the nomenclature yet—will most certainly be glossy for the first time. It isn’t new for Samsung to launch new shades, but mostly it’s done as a mid-cycle refresh, possibly to “reinvigorate” its phones. The S25 Ultra colour update is coming earlier than expected considering that the Galaxy S25 series was launched in January 2025.
We reviewed the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra recently and called it “the best of Android.” It’s a phone that doesn’t do anything drastically new but takes everything that you expect from a product of its class and applies a bit more polish to stuff that really matters whether it be a more ergonomic design or improved performance. Samsung also upgraded the ultrawide in this generation to a higher-resolution 50-megapixel sensor.
The key USP though is Galaxy AI. Samsung has reworked the software—which is One UI 7.0—from ground up making it “AI first” introducing many conveniences from natural conversations to breakthrough AI Agents. Powering the S25 Ultra is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. RAM and storage can go up to 12GB and 1TB respectively. The screen is slightly larger—6.9-inch versus 6.8- on the S24 Ultra—while retaining Samsung’s high-quality anti-reflective coating. The battery capacity remains unchanged at 5000mAh, and the bundled S-Pen misses out on Bluetooth capabilities.
Galaxy S25 Ultra comes in three configurations, 12GB/256GB, 12GB/512GB and 12GB/1TB, at Rs 1,29,999, Rs 1,41,999, and Rs 1,65,999, respectively.
