Samsung has officially launched the public beta program for One UI 7, a major update that comes with advanced AI features, a redesigned interface, and more personalised controls. The new version, announced today offers users an early glimpse into the future of mobile technology, integrating AI in a way that makes every interaction more intuitive and tailored to individual needs.

One UI 7 introduces a host of powerful AI-powered updates, including improved writing assist tools that allow users to enhance their productivity. The new system enables users to select text across different apps without needing to switch between them, allowing for more seamless multitasking. Building on existing writing aids, these tools now include AI-driven options such as content summarisation, grammar and spelling checks, and auto-formatting notes into bullet points for improved organisation.

One of the standout features of One UI 7 is its upgraded call functionality. The update introduces automatic call transcripts in 20 languages, a first for Samsung’s Galaxy devices. When call recording is enabled, the system automatically transcribes conversations for users to refer to later, eliminating the need to manually take notes.

The visual design of One UI 7 has also undergone significant improvements including a new notification system called “Now Bar.” It allows users to access important activities like music, recording, stopwatch, and the interpreter directly from the lock screen. This feature reduces the need to unlock the device repeatedly, offering users quick access to essential information without interrupting their workflow. Initially supported on the upcoming Galaxy S series devices, the Now Bar will continue to evolve, further enhancing the lock screen experience with more intelligent features in the future.

One UI 7’s updated design emphasizes bold visuals and reduced clutter, aiming to create a more cohesive and inviting interface. The simplified home screen, redesigned widgets, and customised lock screen all combine to give users more control over their mobile experience. This update also introduces a more intuitive camera interface, making it easier to navigate advanced settings. The camera controls and modes have been reorganised for better accessibility, while a new zoom control in Pro video mode allows users to adjust zoom speed for smoother transitions.

One UI 7’s beta is initially available to Galaxy S24 series users in select countries, including Germany, India, Korea, Poland, the UK, and the US. Beginning December 5, users can apply to join the beta program via the Samsung Members app. The full One UI 7 release is expected in the first quarter of 2025 and will roll out gradually to other Galaxy devices.
