Samsung Electronics has launched the public beta of its One UI 7, bringing advanced AI features, updated design elements, and new user interface enhancements to select Galaxy devices. The update, which was first introduced with the Galaxy S24 series, is now expanding to more devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold6, Z Flip6, S23 series, Tab S10 series, and A55.

AI-powered features for improved productivity

One UI 7 introduces a range of AI-driven features aimed at improving user productivity and simplifying tasks. The update includes new writing assist tools that let users select and manipulate text across multiple apps without switching between them. AI-powered capabilities such as text summarisation, spelling and grammar checks, and automatic formatting into bullet points are also integrated into the system.

The update also brings improvements to call features, including automatic call transcripts in 20 languages. When call recording is enabled, One UI 7 automatically transcribes the conversation for future reference.

New design elements and improved customisation options

Along with the AI upgrades, One UI 7 introduces a redesigned user interface. A key feature of the new design is the “Now Bar,” which provides easy access to important activities like music controls, recordings, and stopwatch functions directly from the lock screen. This feature reduces the need to unlock the device for quick interactions and will be available on future Galaxy S series devices.

Other design updates include a simplified home screen and updated One UI widgets. The lock screen has also been redesigned for improved personalisation and ease of use. These changes aim to give users greater control over their devices’ appearance and functionality.

Camera UI and Pro mode enhancements

The One UI 7 update also includes improvements to the camera interface. The camera controls and modes have been rearranged to offer easier access to features. The update introduces a new zoom control for users in Pro video mode, allowing smoother zoom transitions while recording. For Pro and Pro video modes, manual settings have been simplified to make it easier for users to adjust camera settings while capturing images or video.

Availability and future updates

The One UI 7 beta program, which first launched for Galaxy S24 series devices in select countries, is expanding to additional models. Initially available in markets including Germany, India, Korea, Poland, the U.K., and the US, the beta program will also include Galaxy Z Fold6, Z Flip6, and S23 series devices starting March 6. The official One UI 7 update is expected to roll out in April.

Samsung has confirmed that the update will be gradually made available to more Galaxy devices in the coming months, with plans to include additional AI features and capabilities in future versions.
