Did you just miss an Instagram story of your best friend? Or missed out on the latest tea from your friends! Well, now you can revisit them with Instagram’s new update. As reported by TechCrunch, the social media platform is working on such an update. Here’s how the new update will help you to re-watch old story highlights.

Revisit old Insta stories

This new feature was first spotted by Ahmed Ghanem, social media expert. He posted an image on X (earlier known as Twitter) of how the feature  would look when Instagram rolls it out for everyone. Instagram ‘story highlights’ are a great way to keep up with the daily activities of your friends and families. But there are times when you miss them. Well, with the upcoming update you will be able to re-watch a story which was posted a week ago. 

Instagram is reportedly testing a new “Story Highlights” feature. This  will display older stories from your followers at the end of the Stories tray. Notably, this is an area at the top of your feed where you can see Stories from your friends. So, how does this feature work? Usually a story highlight only stays for 24 hours. But now it will be available in your profile for a long time.

Other updates

As of now the feature is only available to a few accounts. Also please  note that the Story Highlights feature will only work for mutual followers. Also, you need to save your stories on your profile for making them available in Highlights.

In other news , the platform will also add some artificial intelligence (AI) tools.Instagram plans to bring a tool that can change your real life scenario to anything as per your command.  On December 19, Adam Mosseri, head of Instagram showcased a teaser of this feature. In a video he completely transformed his appearance. In one frame he turned himself into a felt puppet.This feature is aimed at promoting the creativity of content creators, said Mosseri.
