The oil and data company has launched a new prepaid plan priced at Rs 949 offering customers a free three-month JioHotstar subscription along with data, voice calling, and SMS benefits. This move is aimed at attracting entertainment lovers by providing access to JioCinema and Disney Hotstar content together on one platform without any separate subscription charges.

The Rs 949 plan is designed to offer a complete telecom and entertainment package for Jio users. The plan will fetch you high speed data capped at 2GB per day along with unlimited voice calls across any network within India. Once the daily limit is exhausted, the internet speed will go down to 64 Kbps but will continue to work. The plan includes 100 SMS per day, catering to those who frequently use text messaging services.
The Jio Rs 949 plan comes with a validity of 84 days, offering long-term benefits without the hassle of frequent recharges. However, the major highlight of the plan is the free JioHotstar mobile subscription which is valid for three months. The subscription provides access to a variety of content, including movies, TV shows, live sports, and exclusive series.
What is JioHotstar?
JioHotstar is a newly launched streaming service coming out of a collaboration between Reliance’s JioCinema and Disney+ Hotstar. Launched in February 2025, the platform brings extensive content libraries of both streaming services, offering a vast collection of movies, web series, and live sports on a unified platform.
The JioHotstar Mobile subscription, included in the Rs 949 plan, allows users to stream content on a single mobile device at 720p of resolution. While the free version comes with ads, users can upgrade to ad-free premium plans for higher resolutions, multiple-device support, and an ad-free experience. The Jio Hotstar subscription costs Rs 149 / 3 months and Rs 499 / year for the ad-supported plan. The premium plan is priced at Rs 299 / month, Rs 499 / 3 months and Rs 1499 / year.
How to avail the offer?
Jio users can recharge with the Rs 949 plan through the MyJio app, Jio’s official website, or third-party recharge platforms like Paytm, Google Pay, and PhonePe. Once recharged, the complimentary JioHotstar subscription can be activated through the MyJio app by following the instructions.
