The Redmi Note 13 Pro series headlined by the top-shelf Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus is coming to India in January 2024, Xiaomi announced today. The announcement came during the Redmi 13C series launch keynote which featured a pre-recorded footage shot on the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus itself. While not explicitly mentioned, the Redmi Note 13 Pro should likely tag along, too.
The Redmi Note 13 Pro series launched in China in September as a follow-up to the Redmi Note 12 Pro lineup. Given that Xiaomi doesn’t launch its Redmi K-series phones in the country, the Note pro is its most premium offering under the Redmi banner with prices to match. The Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus currently sells in India at a starting price of Rs 27,999.
The Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus packs exciting hardware inside a nice-looking slick design. It has a 6.67-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1,800 nits of peak brightness. It has an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. Under the hood, it has the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Ultra processor paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS3.1 storage. Running the show is a 5,000mAh battery with 120W fast wired charging.
For photography, the Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus comes with a trio of sensors on the back with a 200-megapixel main sensor behind an optically stabilised lens and another 16-megapixel camera on the front for selfies.
The Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus price in China starts at CNY1,999 (roughly Rs 23,500) for a version with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It would be interesting to see how Xiaomi prices the phone in India. Anyhow, January 2024 is already starting to look packed with prominent launches. OnePlus is expected to launch the OnePlus 12 in India around January 23-24 while Samsung is tipped to launch the Galaxy S24 series at a global unpacked event in San Francisco as early as on January 17.
