Redmi K70 series launch in China is set for November 29 and will coincide with the Xiaomi sub-brand’s 10-year anniversary celebrations. As was the case with the Redmi K60 series, three new models are on the cards including the Redmi K70, Redmi K70 Pro and Redmi K70E. Redmi has shared a few key hardware specs of the upcoming devices to build hype around the launch.
The Redmi K70 Pro, which will expectedly be the most powerful smartphone of the lot, will come rocking Qualcomm’s latest and greatest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, Redmi has confirmed. The Redmi K70E is meanwhile confirmed to get MediaTek’s recently launched Dimensity 8300-Ultra chipset. The moniker “Ultra” could represent increased clock speed or finer tuning, we just don’t know yet. There is no word on the Redmi K70’s processor yet but rumour mill has it that it could get the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 under the hood.
Redmi is sharing more details about the Redmi K70E for some reason, at least at the time of writing. The phone in question will come with a flat 1.5K display with 12bit colour depth, 1920Hz PWM high-frequency dimming support, and a peak brightness of 1,800nits. It is also confirmed to come with a large 5,000mm² stainless steel VC— largest on any Redmi phone to date— to seemingly pull sustained graphics-intensive gaming. You’ll also get a 5,500mAh battery with 90W fast charging (a step-up over the Redmi K60’s 67W) in this phone.

The Redmi K70 and Redmi K70 Pro are expected to support up to 120W fast wired charging and because their predecessors come with wireless charging, we can expect the same from the Redmi K70 series phones as well. But we’ll see.
The bigger USP would be the pricing though. Being Redmi phones, one can expect the Redmi K70 series phones to be more aggressively priced than competing phones with similar hardware. Some of these phones tend to relaunch under the Poco branding internationally so that’s also something to watch out for.
