After much wait, Qualcomm finally launched the Snapdragon 8 Elite, its latest mobile chip. On Tuesday, during the Snapdragon Summit the technology giant announced the launch of its latest advanced chip.
The company further claims that its latest chip is capable of powering high-end smartphones from brands such as OnePlus, Samsung, Xiaomi, ASUS, and OPPO. Let’s have a look at what more specs and features it brings to you.
Qualcomm brings Snapdragon 8 Elite 3nm chip
According to the announcement the latest chip will first come in the OnePlus 13. The OnePlus 13 will be launching in China on October 31. The Snapdragon 8 Elite is all set to bring enhanced efficiency, speed and intelligence in comparison to its older version. In addition to this the chip is made to power artificial intelligence (AI) tools/features. For example it can process AI-powered activities such as editing or automated writing better.
Additionally, the chip supports up to 320 MP cameras. It can also record 8K videos at 60 frames per second. Plus point you get very high resolution videos with speedy recording. You will also get the option of slow-motion video recording in 1080p at 480 frames per second. Furthermore, the Snapdragon 8 Elite is made to support Wi-Fi-7 and 5G with the potential to provide more stable connectivity. The company highlighted that this chip is built to help users get longer battery life, smoother experience and even gaming experience when incorporated in high-end smartphones.

Furthermore, the company also boasts that their Snapdragon 8 Elite is their fastest mobile processor till now. It also mentioned that it has achieved an AnTuTu score of over 3 million. Its CPU promises to reach speeds of up to 4.32 GHz. With this you can expect to get up to 45% performance improvement in comparison to earlier versions of the chipset.
In other news, on October 17, Qualcomm in collaboration with Xiaomi also showcased its most affordable smartphone. This smartphone named Redmi A4 5G is priced below Rs 10,000. It also boasts of being a 5G smartphone priced at such an affordable range. The phone is also powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4s Gen 2. According to Savi Soin, Qualcomm India president, the Snapdragon 4s Gen2 was designed with an aim to allow consumers to enjoy the benefits of 5G connectivity.
