The health tracking landscape has received a notable update with the launch of the Oura Ring 4, introducing advanced accuracy and new subscription options for users. As wearable technology evolves, Oura aims to maintain its competitive edge amid increasing market competition, including products like Samsung’s Galaxy Ring.

The Oura Ring 4 features a Smart Sensing technology that tailors tracking to the unique shape of each user’s finger. This development is significant for those seeking reliable health metrics, as it claims to present more accurate readings for heart rate, sleep patterns, and blood oxygen levels.

The new ring comes with capabilities, such as advanced monitoring of cardiovascular metrics and enhanced sleep tracking through a redesigned sensor system.

The new Oura Ring 4 can track a variety of health metrics, such as heart rate variability, cardiovascular age, and even stress levels. The ring uses red and infrared LEDs for blood oxygen monitoring, while green and infrared LEDs track heart rate continuously. Users can also benefit from insights into their sleep quality and daily resilience.

Coming to the battery life of the ring, Oura claims to last up to eight days on a single charge. The new design features a square aluminium charger that fully charges the ring in about 120 minutes.

Oura will continue with a subscription model, priced at $5.99 per month. This fee supports ongoing app updates and new features, which are becoming standard in the health tracking industry. The app interface has also been revamped to make it easier for users to access and interpret their health data.

Pre-orders for the Oura Ring 4 are now available, with a release date set for October 15. The ring will be offered in several colours, including gold, rose gold, silver, and stealth, starting at $349.
