The young engineer, as revealed in a Reddit post, is the first in his family to earn a BTech in Computer Science. He started his career with a modest campus placement offer of Rs 3.6 lakh per annum. However, instead of waiting for his joining date, he took a more proactive approach.
The young Indian began applying for hundreds of remote international jobs – a path that initially led to countless rejections but ultimately paid off. “Rejection after rejection for months. Out of all those applications, I got just one interview call and somehow, I cleared it.”
After applying to over 500-600 jobs, though, the techie secured a single interview with an OpenAI-linked project, and he ended up successfully clearing it. From the initial Rs 3.6 lakh per annum, his salary now stands at Rs 20 lakhs per month.

With the job in hand, though, the techie isn’t stopping anytime soon. The 23-year-old is now working to create his own tech firm with the additional money he earns from the OpenAI-linked project. Once done, he would be creating his own team working on big projects, thus earning more than most other techies settling for safer and simpler roles with established organisations.
