OnePlus has officially launched the Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro smartphones in China. The new models promise cutting-edge technology coupled with impressive performance metrics. Both devices are equipped with a 1.5K BOE X2 flat display, showcasing exceptional clarity and brightness, reaching a peak of 4500 nits.
The Ace 5 Pro is particularly noteworthy, featuring the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, which boasts an impressive score of 3.31 million on AnTuTu benchmarking. Its unique Fengchi Gaming Core technology is a first in the industry, offering native 120 frames per second at 1080p resolution, tailored for gaming enthusiasts.
OnePlus has also focused on heat management in the Ace 5 Pro. The device incorporates a dual ice core 6004mm² single-layer VC heat sink combined with an innovative chip air duct design to ensure efficient heat dissipation, enabling a cool and comfortable experience during extended gaming sessions. The new smartphones also introduce advanced connectivity features, including ultra-long-range smart Bluetooth and the world’s first gaming Wi-Fi chip, the G1. It boasts a powerful 6100mAh glacier battery, capable of charging to 52% in just 15 minutes and achieving a full charge in 36 minutes, thanks to its 100W flash charging capabilities. On the other hand, the Ace 5 features the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and shares the same stunning display. It includes a 6400mAh carbon silicon battery with an energy density of 859 Wh/L and supports 80W fast charging. Both models sport a robust camera system with a 50MP main camera featuring a Sony sensor, backed by an 8MP ultra-wide lens, a 2MP macro camera, and a 16MP front camera. The designs are available in a striking Porcelain colour with a ceramic finish.
Pricing for the Ace 5 starts at 2299 yuan (approximately Rs. 26,830) for the 12GB + 256GB variant, while the Ace 5 Pro begins at 3399 yuan (around Rs. 39,665) for the same specifications. Additionally, the Ace 5 is expected to launch in India and other global markets next month under the OnePlus 13R branding, which will feature adjusted camera and battery specifications.
