The OnePlus 15 is slated to become the next big thing in the premium smartphone space. Showcased first at the Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite Gen 5 launch event, the OnePlus 15 takes the flagship phone game for the brand in a completely different direction. It looks vastly different than its predecessor, packs in a lot of additional performance, has a host of advanced cameras on its back, and comes with a massive battery.

Scheduled to debut in China on October 27, the new flagship smartphone has been teased by the brand as well as industry insiders, confirming its position as a true generational upgrade over its predecessor, the OnePlus 13. From a massive new battery to a major camera redesign, here is everything known about the upcoming flagship.

OnePlus 15 is a powerhouse

One of the most significant upgrades confirmed by OnePlus is in the battery section. The OnePlus 15 will pack an immense 7,300mAh battery, which is a massive upgrade over the 6,000mAh unit found in the previous model. This battery should contribute to a healthy all-day stamina.

Accompanying the large battery are equally impressive charging capabilities. The phone will support 120W wired charging, allowing users to rapidly top up the device despite having a gigantic battery. Furthermore, it will feature 50W wireless charging support.

A fast phone indeed

At the core of the OnePlus 15 will be the newest Qualcomm chip – the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. unveiled earlier this year. This processor promises cutting-edge performance, which OnePlus claims has been “designed for ultra-high-frame-rate gaming.”

In terms of software, the OnePlus 15 will ship with Android 16 underneath. While the Chinese variant will run on ColorOS 16, the device slated for its upcoming India launch is confirmed to run on OxygenOS 16. The global release date for India is expected to follow shortly after the China debut.

The visual experience is also receiving an overhaul with the inclusion of a third-generation 1.5K BOE Flexible Oriental OLED display. Key improvements to this screen include a resolution of 1.5K and a 165Hz refresh rate. Compared to the OnePlus 13, the new display boasts a 13 per cent improvement in High Brightness Mode (HBM) and an 11.8 per cent enhancement in colour shift. OnePlus also says that the new panel offers a 30 per cent increase in lifespan and a 10 per cent reduction in power consumption.

OnePlus 15 to bring great cameras

The OnePlus 15’s camera system is tipped to feature a visually redesigned square, triple-rear camera module. The leaks suggest a substantial setup focused on versatility, which includes a 50MP primary shooter, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with an 85mm equivalent focal length, f/2.8 aperture, and 3x optical zoom capability. The partnership with Hasselblad has ended, too, and OnePlus will debut its own in-house DetailMax image engine.

OnePlus 15 expected India price

The OnePlus 15 is expected to be priced under Rs 75,000 for the base variant, with higher storage variants expected to go beyond Rs 80,000.
