The OnePlus 15 is set to launch on November 13 in India, and expectations are high for India’s first phone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Ahead of the official event, OnePlus has unveiled a comprehensive set of specifications, hinting that the device is more than ever heavily engineered for performance, gaming, and endurance. Its launch in China last month also gives us a good idea of what to expect when it hits the OnePlus stores later this month.
The OnePlus 15 will compete directly with the newly launched Apple iPhone 17, iPhone Air, and iPhone 17 Pro, Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series, and the Google Pixel 10 series in India. However, it will be the first phone in the range to offer a next-generation chipset that promises greater performance and superior power efficiency.
OnePlus 15 expected price in India
In China, the OnePlus 15 starts at CNY 3,999 (roughly Rs 50,000) for the base variant in 12GB RAM + 256GB storage trim. The top-tier model in the 16GB RAM + 1TB storage trim is priced at CNY 5,399 (roughly Rs 67,000). Once you factor in the addition import duties and taxes in India, the OnePlus 15 could end up being costlier than in China. You can expect OnePlus India to come up with a base price of less than Rs 70,000, with a possibility of the top variant having a price tag of under Rs 80,000.
OnePlus 15 specifications and features at a glance
At the heart of the OnePlus 15 lies the cutting-edge 3nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. This next-generation chip is expected to deliver notable gains in raw speed and power efficiency, which could help with demanding modern games and complex AI tasks. This processor, along with the custom OxygenOS 16 UI running on top of Android 16, promises a clean and lightning-fast software experience.
A new 360-degree Cryo-Velocity cooling system with a 5,731 mm² 3D vapour chamber is said to keep the processor cool while allowing for peak performance during extensive performance sessions.
OnePlus 15 also brings a spacious 6.78-inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate, promising UI fluidity and reduced motion blur. OnePlus has collaborated directly with developers for titles such as Call of Duty: Mobile, Brawl Stars, and Clash of Clans to offer native 165fps gaming support. Beyond refresh rate, input latency is minimised by a 3200Hz touch sampling rate. The display also features a peak 1,800 nits of High Brightness Mode (HBM) for clear viewing under direct sunlight, while offering a minimum brightness of just 1 nit for eye-comfort during late-night use.
The OnePlus 15 also features a huge 7,300 mAh battery, a major increase from its predecessor. This capacity is backed up by ultra-fast charging with OnePlus’ 120W SUPERVOOC wired fast charging and a 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging.
The inclusion of Bypass Charging is a game-changer for thermal management as it allows power to be channeled directly from the charger to the device’s components, circumventing the battery entirely to eliminate excess heat when playing demanding games.
The OnePlus 15 carries IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings. The addition of IP69K protection, which certifies resistance to high-pressure, high-temperature water jets, goes beyond typical phone durability, offering extreme resilience.
The phone will be available in three sophisticated colourways, which includes Sand Storm, Infinite Black, and Ultra Violet.
