The New York Times’ word puzzle game, Connections, is giving a serious fight to other popular games like Wordle and more. The game has become a daily ritual for many enthusiasts, challenging players to spot connections among seemingly unrelated words.

Each day, a new puzzle presents a 4×4 grid of 16 words, and the goal is to bunch them into four categories based on hidden connections.

How to play NYT Connections

Connections is available for free on The New York Times website and its Games app. A new puzzle is released daily at midnight. Players are given a 4×4 grid containing 16 words. The challenge is to identify four groups of four words that share a common link or theme. Once a group is identified, players select the four words. Players have a total of four chances to correctly group all words before the game concludes.

There are four difficulty levels colour coded Yellow being the easiest, Green being the moderate, Blue being the challenging one and purple the hardest. Players must look for related meanings, cultural references, or subtle connections.
