In Connections, players are given a 4×4 grid containing 16 words. “Group words that share a common thread,”- as instructed by its maker, the goal is to sort these grids into four groups of four words each, based on hidden connections. These words can belong to any category- ranging from synonyms and pop culture references to household items or even types of animals. The game might seem simple at first glance but requires racking one’s brain. Similar-sounding words and overlapping themes make it a true test of wits.
The New York Times releases a new puzzle every day, ensuring players always have something new to solve. Where to play NYT Connections The game is free to play on The New York Times website and its Games app. A new puzzle drops at midnight, offering players a new challenge each day.
