One of the most interesting launches expected in July is the Nothing Phone (3) – the long-awaited successor to the Phone (2) from 2023. The Phone (3) will be more than just a successor though – it will mark the brand’s attempt at doing a proper Android flagship. The Phone (3) will not only come with a high-end chipset but also feature several upgrades to other crucial parameters, including the cameras and battery capacity.
The Phone (3)’s arrival to the bustling flagship segment is likely to disrupt the iPhones and Samsung Galaxy phones of the world. Although the signature Glyph lights will be gone, Nothing is expected to stand out with its semi-transparent back panel and a polished user interface based on the new Android 15 OS.
With the July 1 launch just a few weeks away, we take a look at everything we know about the Phone (3), including its expected price in India.
Nothing Phone (3) leaked specs at a glance
Processor: The Phone (3) could feature a high-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, thus offering true flagship-level performance. However, rumours also hint at the possibility of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3/ Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 to keep the price more accessible. This is likely to be paired with at least 8GB RAM and 128GB storage in the base variant.
Display: The Phone (3) is likely to sport a 6.7-inch flat AMOLED LTPO display with a 1.5K pixel resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits. Again, Nothing may skip on variable refresh rate to keep the price more accessible.
Cameras: Not a strong aspect of Nothing phones but the Phone (3) could attempt to offer a reliable package. A triple-rear camera setup is rumoured, including a 50MP main sensor, another 50MP ultrawide sensor and a new telephoto shooter with 3x optical zoom. The front camera is expected to be 32MP.
Battery and charging: In a bid to keep up with the trends, a 5,000mAh battery is anticipated to power the Phone (3). Nothing could offer a faster 50W wired fast charging and support for 25W wireless charging.
Software: The Phone (3) will likely run Nothing OS 3.0, based on Android 15. However, there may be a possibility of a new Nothing OS version relying on Android 16, featuring more AI tools and a cleaner design.
Design: A significant departure from previous Nothing phones is expected, with leaked renders suggesting the removal of the signature Glyph Interface lights on the back. It may feature a semi-transparent design with curved frames. A new dot-matrix style rear panel, similar to the ones in the Asus ROG phones, could add some functionality to the phone’s back panel, while retaining the overall transparent aesthetic with the rest of the area. The camera hump could feature a new design that could be in line with the Phone (3a) Pro.
Nothing Phone (3) expected price in India
Industry insiders have hinted at the Phone (3) coming in with a premium price tag of $799 (approx. Rs 68,000), just undercutting the iPhone 16, the upcoming iPhone 17, the Samsung Galaxy S25 and the OnePlus 13. That said, the Indian pricing is anticipated to be more competitive, possibly between Rs 55,000 to Rs 60,000, thus making it the value-for-money choice.
