HMD Global at its keynote conference in Barcelona announced the launch of one of iconic Nokia phones – the Nokia 8110 4G. The Nokia 8110 4G is a redesigned version of the Nokia 8110, also popularly known as the ‘Banana phone’. The Nokia 8110 4G walks on the same lines as the Nokia 3310 (2017), and HMD Global is hoping to recreate the nostalgic factor among the buyers. The Nokia 8110 4G, as the name suggests, comes with support for 4G LTE networks along with VoLTE calling. It comes with a host of other revamped features, new apps including Google Search, Gmail, and Maps, and games including the iconic Snake game that was reintroduced to the world last year with Nokia 3310 (2017).
Nokia 8110 4G Price and Availability
The Nokia 8110 4G has been priced at 79 euros that is roughly around Rs 6,500 in Indian currency equivalents. The feature phone will begin shipping in May in two colour variants – Traditional Black and Banana Yellow.
As for the Indian market, the launch of Nokia 8110 4G is yet to be announced by the company.

The iconic Nokia 8110 is now the Nokia 8110 4G with a whole new design and body, however, the slider is still persistent in the device that reminds of the original phone. After gaining a cult status by featuring in the movie ‘The Matrix’, Nokia’s banana phone 8110 became quite popular. The Nokia 8110 4G is a feature phone that comes with smartphone capabilities, which is very similar to the Jio Phone. The Nokia 8110 4G runs on KAI OS that the company likes to call the Smart Feature OS. This means that apps such as Google Search, Maps, and Assistant can be installed on the phone. HMD Global at the time of launch said that the users will also be able to install Facebook and WhatsApp on this phone in an update later this year that will bring an app store, as well.
The Nokia 8110 4G is aimed to bring back the nostalgia that people have with the original handset. Just like the original model, the Nokia 8110 4G will allow receiving and disconnecting calls with the help of the slider. Moreover, the Snake game that became fondly popular after its relaunch with the Nokia 3310 (2017) has also been packed in the Nokia 8110 4G. The Nokia 8110 4G bears a 2.45-inch QVGA curved display and a physical keypad. It is powered by a dual-core 1.1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 205 Mobile platform coupled with 512MD of RAM and 4GB of inbuilt storage. However, there is no support for expandable storage via microSD card. The camera on the device is a 2-megapixel shooter with an LED flash.
For the connectivity, the Nokia 8110 4G offers dual SIM card support with 1 Micro and 1 Nano sizes. In addition, there is support for Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS, A-GPS, FM radio, and a 3.5mm audio jack. HMD Global says that this phone can also be used as a Wi-Fi hotspot. The Nokia 8110 4G is backed by a 1500mAh battery that is removable.
