Motorola has launched the Moto G34 5G smartphone in India today, per schedule. The big takeaway is that Motorola seems to be beating the Redmis and Realmes at their own game with what’s presumably the country’s first “truly affordable 5G” phone, with barely any perceivable compromise. Everything from design to display, choice of chip, to cameras, and even the software experience looks and feels like it could cost more. Only it doesn’t.
Moto G34 5G India price, availability
The Moto G34 5G comes in a choice of 4GB/128GB and 8GB/128GB for Rs 10,999 and Rs 11,999, respectively. Motorola says it will offer an additional Rs 1,000 off on exchange and so, the Moto G34 5G can effectively be purchased for Rs 9,999 and Rs 10,999 if you go that route. General availability is pegged for January 17 across the company’s online store, Flipkart and offline retail.
Moto G34 5G a first look at design, features, and specs
Motorola is touting the phone’s design more than anything. Given that it is a budget phone, the Moto G34 does exude a bit of premium, giving buyers options of both a plush “vegan leather” and 3D acrylic glass (PMMA) to choose from. It is light on the pocket, too, literally and figuratively weighing in at just under 180g measuring only 7.98mm. The chassis has a water-repellent rating of IP52.

Flip over to the front and you’ll find a 6.5-inch LCD display with a 720p resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The panel can peak 580 nits in high brightness (HBM) mode and is protected by Panda Glass. A hole punch cutout lies at its centre housing a 16-megapixel f/2.4 camera for selfies. While on the back, the Moto G34 5G has a dual setup with 50-megapixel f/1.8 wide and 2-megapixel macro.
Powering the phone is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 695 paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS2.2 storage which is expandable by another 1TB using micro-SD card. Running the show is Android 14 software. Motorola is guaranteeing “assured upgrade to Android 15” and up to three years of security updates for it.
The Moto G34 5G has a 5,000mAh battery with 20W fast charging. It has dual speakers with Dolby Atmos playback and supports 13 5G bands right out of the gate.
