L&T Technology Services (LTTS) said it has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with BITS Pilani and the Centre for Research and Excellence in National Security (CRENS) to advance research and development (R&D) and skill-building in key areas related to national security.
The collaboration will be anchored at the Hyderabad campus of Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani, where CRENS will function as the primary centre. This hub will engage with law enforcement agencies, industry experts, and academic researchers to promote technological advancements and skill enhancement.
According to a statement from the company, defence specialists—including former personnel from the armed forces and the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO)—will also take part in the initiative.
“This landmark collaboration aims to drive Research & Development (R&D), innovation, and skill development in areas critical to national security, including cybersecurity, perimeter security, digital forensics, and emerging technologies,” the statement noted.
LTTS and BITS Pilani will collaborate by sharing research laboratories, technical infrastructure, and domain expertise to strengthen each other’s capabilities.
The programme will also provide support for startups via mentoring and incubation, offer policy recommendations to national security bodies, and create sustained platforms for conferences, boot camps, and mentoring sessions to address new and evolving security threats.
