LG Electronics has launched a new ad-supported audio streaming service called LG Radio+, offering a free access to live radio stations and podcasts directly through LG Smart TVs and audio devices. The service, available on webOS 6.0 and above, offers an easy-to-use interface and integration with the LG ThinQ app.
LG Radio+ brings a vast catalogue of content through a partnership with Radioline, a leading global radio and audio provider. Users in the US and Korea gets over 14,500 live channels and podcasts, covering a wide array of genres including news, music, sports, and talk shows. Popular channels such as NPR, CNN Radio, Fox Radio, and The Joe Rogan Experience are available in the US, while Korean users can explore a selection of local favourites.
The app’s intuitive interface comes with personalised recommendations and a real-time, Featured page showcasing trending music and podcasts. The On Air and Podcast pages allow users to browse a diverse range of channels and shows, catering to different tastes.
LG is emphasising convenience with LG Radio+, which can be accessed via the LG Content Store or through the LG Magic Remote’s voice search function. For those who prefer to listen on the go, the service is integrated into the LG ThinQ app, allowing users to stream content on compatible LG audio devices, including Xboom speakers. In 2025, LG will also introduce direct access to LG Radio+ via the My Button on Xboom speakers, further enhancing its integration within the LG ecosystem.
LG Radio+ enters a crowded market, competing with established platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, and likewise more. While services like Spotify and Apple Music offer premium, subscription-based plans, LG’s ad-supported service provides a free and straightforward alternative, with easy access directly from LG’s smart devices. This strategy sets LG apart by focusing on simplicity and accessibility, capitalising on its strong position in the smart TV and home audio markets.
