Kingston Technology has expanded its high-performance lineup with the launch of a new PCIe 5.0 NVMe M.2 SSD under its Kingston FURY brand. The new SSD, called Kingston FURY Renegade G5, is targeted at gamers, content creators, and workstation users looking to maximise system performance.
The drive uses the latest PCIe Gen5 x4 controller and 3D TLC NAND, offering read and write speeds of up to 14,800MB/s and 14,000MB/s, respectively. It also delivers over two million IOPS, which the company says will help reduce load times and eliminate storage bottlenecks in demanding workflows.
“We’re eager to announce this addition to the Kingston FURY family of high-performance solutions,” Kingston said in a statement. “Between the power of Kingston FURY Renegade G5 SSD and Kingston FURY memory, high-power users and hardware enthusiasts can create their ultimate system.”
The SSD is powered by a Silicon Motion SM2508 controller built on 6nm process technology and includes low-power DDR4 DRAM cache to manage heat and energy consumption. It is available in 1TB, 2TB and 4TB variants, and comes with a five-year limited warranty.
The Kingston FURY Renegade G5 also features advanced thermal management to maintain peak performance during intense gaming sessions or heavy-duty rendering tasks. The drive comes with a low-profile graphene aluminum heat spreader, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of motherboard and system builds, including compact form factors.
With support for NVMe 2.0 specifications, the SSD benefits from enhanced performance features and greater efficiency, providing faster access to data and smoother multitasking. Users can expect quicker boot times, near-instantaneous application launches, and ultra-fast file transfers, making it an ideal solution for 4K/8K content editing, 3D rendering, and real-time gameplay capture.
