iQOO Neo 9 Pro has officially launched in India today and as expected, it’s got the goods to beat the pants off the OnePlus 12R (including faster UFS4.0 storage). At a relatively more affordable price tag as well. The iQOO Neo 9 Pro base 8GB/128GB variant costs Rs 4,000 less than the OnePlus 12R equivalent (the catch though is that it will only be available starting March 21).
iQOO is giving more memory options, too, but even the highest-end model is priced below Rs 40,000 (though it does top out at 12GB of RAM whereas the OnePlus 12R can go up to 16GB).
iQOO Neo 9 Pro launch: Specs, features
The iQOO Neo 9 Pro’s big-ticket feature obviously is the choice of chip. The phone bags the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, last year’s flagship Qualcomm processor. iQOO has also paired it to a 6043mm2 vapour chamber cooling setup and a “supercomputing” Q1 chip to pull off 144fps interpolation (the maximum that the iQOO Neo 9 Pro’s screen can support) in games. Speaking of which, the screen is also very powerful. It’s a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED with local peak brightness of 3,000 nits. It also supports “wet touch” to prevent ghosting and accidental touches when your fingers (or phone) is wet.
Another big highlight of the iQOO Neo 9 Pro is the software. The phone runs Android 14 (with Funtouch OS 14 on top) and is guaranteed to get three years of major OS and four years of security updates. Like the iQOO 11, it doesn’t have any “hot apps/games” a major source of bloatware on past iQOO devices. Running the show is a 5,160mAh battery with 120W fast charging.
For photography, the iQOO Neo 9 Pro uses the Vivo X100’s primary 50-megapixel Sony IMX920 camera sensor with high-end features like 4K night video and landscape moon. There is another 8-megapixel ultrawide (no puny macro/depth) and 16-megapixel camera for selfies.
iQOO Neo 9 Pro launch: Price, availability
The iQOO Neo 9 Pro comes in 8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB and 12GB/256GB for Rs 35,999, Rs 37,999, and Rs 39,999, respectively. General availability (except for the 8GB/128GB variant) is pegged for February 23 starting 12PM (February 22, 1PM for pre-booking customers) across iQOO online and Amazon India.
