iQOO’s 12 packs so many upgrades, it’s hard to imagine its predecessor, iQOO 11, came barely a few months ago. The processor is different, of course, but so is virtually everything else. And yet, iQOO has somehow priced the 12 even more aggressively. If this is how all flagships (and flagship killers) will be from now on through 2024, prepare for fireworks is all we can say.

The iQOO 12 goes on sale in India today. We’ve already shared our hot take on it and so be sure to check that out. The TL;DR version is that the phone is dressed to impress. In this piece, we will compare the 12 with the 11 side by side to show you how far iQOO flagships have come over the years. The OnePlus 12 may well steal all the limelight in the coming days, but iQOO’s rise is no less meteoric and its phones, great value for money.

Without further ado, here’s how the iQOO 12 to compares to its predecessor:

  1. The iQOO 12 comes in a choice of 12GB/256GB and 16GB/512GB memory configurations at a price of Rs 52,999 and Rs 57,999 respectively. The iQOO 11 cost Rs 59,999 for 8GB/256GB and Rs 64,999 for 16GB/256GB at launch.
  2. The iQOO 12 has a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 1.5K (2800x1260p) resolution and 144Hz refresh rate. The panel can peak 1400nits in sunny outdoors and up to 3000nits when playing HDR content (up to HDR10+ is supported). You also get 2160Hz PWM dimming in this phone. iQOO has also equipped the 12’s screen with wet touch technology, which seems mostly similar to OnePlus uses on its own 12. The iQOO 11 also came with a 6.78-inch display but it had an E6 LTPO AMOLED with 1440p or 2K resolution and up to 144Hz refresh rate. It could do only 1800nits tops.
  3. The iQOO 12 features the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 while the iQOO 11 had the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, then the flagship chip from Qualcomm.
  4. The iQOO 12 runs Android 14 with Funtouch OS 14 on top while the iQOO 11 came with Android 13. An interesting bit about the iQOO 12 is that iQOO is shipping the phone with lesser bloat as compared to its other phones. The support policy remains same though which is three years of major OS and four years of security updates.
  5. The iQOO 12 has a trio of 50-megapixel, 50-megapixel, and 64-megapixel sensors sitting behind a 23mm wide (with optical image stabilisation), 150-dgree ultrawide, and 70mm periscope-style telephoto (for 3x optical and up to 100x digital zoom). iQOO 11 has a triple camera setup on the back which is a combination of a 50MP main (Samsung GN5 sensor) with optical image stabilisation, 8MP ultrawide, and another 13MP 2X portrait shooter. You get a 16MP camera on the front in both phones.
  6. Both phones pack a 5,000mAh battery and support 120W fast wired charging.
  7. You get stereo speakers and no headphone jack in both phones.
  8. The iQOO 12 is IP64 rated. The iQOO 11 came with no IP rating.
  9. iQOO does not specify the version of glass it is using on the iQOO 12. The iQOO 11 came with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on the front and the white version came with faux-leather finish on the back.
  10. Storage expansion is not an option in either phone and the Type-C port is USB2.0.
