Amidst the rising spam/online scams, Apple plans to bring a business Id feature to help you identify the true ID of any business caller. This feature will be similar to Truecaller that shows the original ID of any caller. As of now the feature is in testing phase and will roll out to all by next year.
Apple wrote in a blog post that next year business will be able to differentiate between spam callers and potential customers. Additionally, it will also help to highlight the verified business amidst the usual uncountable spam calls.
Apple working on ‘Business Caller ID’
In an official blog, “Next year, businesses will also be able to register for Business Caller ID. Their name, logo, and department appear on the inbound call screen,” Apple highlighted. This will help businesses to stay away from fake calls or other unwanted calls. The upcoming caller ID feature is a part of Apple’s Business Connect program. So how does this feature work? To get a verified business ID , business owners first need to register themselves. Owners can register with their existing Apple Id or create a new one to register.
By registering in the Business Connect program owners can create an identity for their brands. It includes adding names and detailed info about the brand. This will help to give a visual overview of the entire brand. Moreover, this can create better communication between the brand and its customers.
In addition to this with the update companies will get better control over listings in Apple Maps, Siri, Messages and even Apple Wallets. So, which businesses can get themselves registered for the Business connect. Both offline and online business can get this Business connect circle. Also, from small to large or even startups can get access to Business connect.
The way ahead
Furthermore, with Business Connect, businesses can sign up to display their brand in the Mail and also in Phone apps. They can also customize their logo in Tap to Pay on iPhone. Along with this, the Branded Mail feature can help businesses to display their brand logo and emails in emails to customers.
Apple has always been a brand that goes by ‘privacy that really matters.’ Privacy and safety has been its pillar and USP (unique selling point). So, to continue this legacy, it aims to take things a step ahead with a Business Caller ID. Although the feature is yet to roll out, let’s hope for something great coming up!
