Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 Pro Max, which is expected to be the top-tier model in the highly anticipated iPhone 17 series, is rumored to come with a higher price tag in India, according to recent reports. Ahead of its expected September launch, leaks suggest the device could be priced around Rs 1,64,990, a notable increase from the iPhone 16 Pro Max’s launch price of Rs 1,44,900, thus indicating a massive price hike.

While these prices are currently speculative, the potential price hike is attributed to factors such as ongoing US tariffs uncertainty and a saturated demand in some markets. However, with Apple’s increasing investment in manufacturing and exports from India, there remains a possibility that the price increase might be mitigated to an extent.

iPhone 17 Pro Max leaked features at a glance:

The iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to feature a refreshed rectangular camera module, maintaining a familiar layout but housing upgraded lenses. There could be a 48MP main camera sensor followed by a 48MP ultrawide shooter and a new 48MP telephoto sensor with 5x optical zoom. This should significantly improve the telephoto lens performance. The new camera system should also allow for 8K video recording – a feature commonly found on flagship Android phones.

As far as the display is concerned, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to feature a large 6.9-inch SuperRetina XDR panel with ProMotion technology, promising a vibrant and fluid visual experience. The device is rumored to be powered by a new 3nm A19 Pro chipset, paired with up to 12GB of RAM. This significant boost in memory and processing power is crucial to support upcoming Apple Intelligence features in iOS 26.

To manage the enhanced performance, the phone is said to include a dedicated vapour cooling chamber, which should help with thermal management during intensive tasks.
