With less than two months to go until the debut of Apple’s next-gen iPhone 17 Pro series, speculation and leaks surrounding the upcoming devices are steadily building. The upcoming iPhone 17 lineup is expected to feature the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Early leaks and reports suggest significant upgrades across the board, including enhanced displays, advanced camera technology, refreshed designs, and a host of new capabilities. According to recent reports, Apple is likely to unveil the new iPhone 17 models in early September—now just weeks away, the countdown is officially underway.
iPhone 17 launch date:
In the newest edition of his Power On newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman suggested that Apple enthusiasts should mark the week of September 8 on their calendars, as that’s when the upcoming iPhone lineup is likely to be announced and go on sale.
Gurman noted that Apple traditionally unveils new iPhones shortly after Labor Day, which falls on September 1 this year. Following this pattern, the launch event is expected to take place the following week—consistent with the tech giant’s typical release timeline.
iPhone 17 chipset:
A recent post on Weibo by a user named Fixed Focus Digital suggests that the iPhone 17 Air may be equipped with Apple’s A19 Pro chip instead of the regular A19. However, the version used in the 17 Air is expected to feature a 5-core GPU, while the same processor in the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max will likely boast a more powerful 6-core GPU setup.
iPhone 17 design:
Reports indicate that Apple plans to reintroduce aluminium frames across the entire iPhone 17 lineup, including the Pro and Pro Max versions. This marks a departure from the brand’s recent approach of utilizing stainless steel or titanium in its premium models—such as the iPhone 15 Pro—while reserving aluminium for budget-friendly options like the iPhone SE and the upcoming iPhone 16.
iPhone 17 camera:
When it comes to cameras, Apple is rumored to enhance the front-facing camera on the iPhone 17, upgrading it from a 12MP to a 24MP sensor—promising sharper selfies and clearer video output. The regular variant is expected to retain a dual-lens setup, likely featuring a single 48MP main rear camera. Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is reportedly set to feature a trio of 48MP sensors—covering wide, ultra-wide, and telephoto lenses—with the added capability of recording video in 8K resolution.
iPhone 17 expected India price:
In 2025, Apple is expected to maintain its existing pricing approach for base iPhone models. Initial leaks indicate that the iPhone 17 could debut in India with a starting price of approximately Rs 89,900, while the newly introduced iPhone 17 Air might be priced near Rs 99,900. The top-end iPhone 17 Pro Max is likely to carry a price tag of around Rs 1,64,900, and the slightly less premium iPhone 17 Pro may be available for roughly Rs 1,39,900.
