Apple is gearing up for the launch of the iPhone 17 series, which is right around the corner. The launch event, according to insider leaks, will be in early September. Apple is anticipated to introduce the iPhone 17 line-up with four distinct models. The range is likely to feature the standard iPhone 17, a thinner and more lightweight iPhone 17 Air, as well as the high-end iPhone 17 Pro and the flagship iPhone 17 Pro Max. The iPhone 17 line-up is rumoured to debut with an upgraded take on the Dynamic Island, delivering a smoother and more intuitive experience. Additionally, both the regular and Pro editions are likely to receive advanced interactive functions and polished visual elements in the interface, driven by the next-generation iOS 26 platform.

Apple is reportedly planning to bump up the base storage across the iPhone 17 line-up to 256GB, doubling it from the current 128GB. Should this upgrade materialize, industry insiders suggest that the starting price could rise by about $50 (roughly Rs 4,400).
In that case, the entry-level iPhone 17 might launch at approximately Rs 83,300, compared to the iPhone 16’s Rs 79,900 price point. If these leaks prove accurate, the premium models in the series are also expected to see notable price increases.
Meanwhile, the all-new iPhone 17 Air is rumoured to be priced around $900 (Rs 78,886), positioning it higher than the standard iPhone 17 but still more affordable than the Pro editions, creating a unique middle ground in the line-up. Since these figures are based on U.S. pricing, estimates suggest the iPhone 17 Air could retail between Rs 90,000 and Rs 1,00,000 in India.

Leaks suggest that the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro might come with aluminium bodies, making them lighter compared to the titanium frames used earlier. A fresh full-width “camera island” design is also being rumored.
For the Pro variant, tipster Majin Bu claims Apple could introduce a revamped antenna system aimed at delivering improved wireless connectivity. In terms of aesthetics, the standard iPhone 17 is expected to be available in shades like black, white, steel grey, green, purple, and light blue, while the Pro models may arrive in more striking options such as black, white, grey, dark blue, and orange.

If Apple follows its usual release timeline, the iPhone 17 series is likely to be introduced in early September. To put this into perspective, the iPhone 16 line-up was unveiled on September 9, the iPhone 15 arrived on September 12, and the iPhone 14 debuted on September 7.
Notably, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has also hinted at September 9 or 10 as the most probable dates for Apple’s big event. Supporting this, a recently surfaced internal memo from German telecom operators points to September 9 as the launch day for the upcoming iPhones.
