In a matter of few months, Apple is going release the successor to the iPhone 16 series – the iPhone 17 series (no surprises!). Expected to contain four models, out of which one of them is going to replace the ageing iPhone Plus variant – the iPhone 17 Air. Combined with the vanilla iPhone 17 and the two iPhone 17 Pro models, the iPhone 17 series is expected to reimagine the expectations from a conventional slab smartphone in Spetmeber 2025.
While there are a bunch of big changes expected to make appearance on the iPhone 17 series, a fresh new leak adds an interesting one – a new Dynamic Island. Based on new rumours, it is said that Apple will refine the Dynamic Island in the coming years. The leak says that Apple wants to make the Dynamic Island pill more functional and nicely integrated with the rest of the iOS 26 user elements. In essence, this Dynamic Island could evolve the way users interact with their smartphone, says Tipster Majin Bu.
The Dynamic Island has been around since the days of the iPhone 14 Pro. Apple originally introduced it to cleverly mask the camera cutout pill and make it seem like a living entity on the iPhone’s display. The Dynamic Island offers previews of live updates from apps, shortcuts to music playback widget and more.
It remains to be seen what kind of innovation does Apple have in mind for its Dynamic Island and how it ends up being different from Samsung’s Now Bar.
iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max expected price in India
With the new changes, Apple is expected to bring changes to the price tags of the iPhone 17 series devices. The regular iPhone 17 could end up carrying an updated price tag as its predecessor, i.e., a starting price of Rs 89,990.
The iPhone 17 Air, which will solely focus on a slim and lean form factor, is expected to come with a starting price of Rs 99,990 in India. The iPhone 17 Air will bring back a 5.5mm slim chassis, reminiscent of the older iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. This phone is also likely to feature a single rear camera sensor instead of a dual-sensor system.
The iPhone 17 Pro is expected to carry a starting price tag of Rs 1,45,000 in India. The bigger iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to be the most expensive model ever, priced at Rs 1,64,990 in India.
