iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Pro Launch Date in India: Apple is all set to unveil its highly anticipated iPhone 16 series at the upcoming ‘It’s Glowtime’ event on September 9. With the launch just around the corner, there’s a buzz of excitement among tech enthusiasts eagerly awaiting the latest offerings from Apple. However, for those on a budget, the primary concern remains the pricing of the new iPhones. While the official prices are expected to be announced early next week, there have been leaks suggesting the potential cost of the upcoming iPhone 16 lineup in India.
According to recent leaks by Apple Hub, the base variant of the iPhone 16 is expected to be priced at $799, which is roughly Rs 67,100. The iPhone 16 Plus, featuring a larger display, is tipped to cost around $899, or roughly Rs 75,500. The iPhone 16 Pro could be priced at $1,099, translating to about Rs 92,300 for the 256GB variant. Meanwhile, the top-of-the-line iPhone 16 Pro Max is speculated to start at $1,199, or around Rs 1,00,700 for the same storage capacity.
It’s important to note that these prices are based on leaks for the US market and are likely to be higher in India due to import duties, taxes, and other factors. For instance, last year, the iPhone 15 Pro was launched in India at Rs 1,34,900, while the Pro Max was priced at Rs 1,59,900. Thus, it’s plausible that the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max could either retain similar pricing or see a slight increase to cover the costs of new components and additional premium features.
The potential price hike for the iPhone 16 Pro models could be attributed to several rumoured upgrades. These include enhancements to the rear camera setup, a new chipset, AI capabilities, and improvements in battery and display size. Additionally, reports suggest that Apple may incorporate higher-end moulded glass lenses in the iPhone 16 Pro models to make them lighter and thinner, while also improving optical zoom capabilities.
