Apple’s annual iPhone launch event, this year dubbed “Glowtime,” is just hours away. As usual, rumours and leaks have been circulating throughout the year, and even at the last minute, predictions continue to emerge. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has forecasted that the AirPods Max will feature significant updates, including a switch to USB-C and improved audio performance.
Gurman suggests that the AirPods Max may see an update after all, contrary to earlier speculations about potential delays. According to Gurman, the updated AirPods Max will feature enhanced audio capabilities, including improved active noise cancellation and new adaptive audio technologies. Additionally, the headphones are expected to move from Lightning to USB-C.
Previously, Gurman had indicated that the refreshed AirPods Max might not be unveiled at this event due to a lack of supply chain issues for the current models. However, it seems we might still see them introduced.
In addition to the AirPods Max, Gurman anticipates a significant update for the standard AirPods. Rumours point to two new AirPods 4 models, with at least one incorporating active noise cancellation, a feature that has previously been exclusive to the higher-end AirPods Pro and AirPods Max.
