Meta-owned social media platform Instagram is testing a new feature that allows users to add photos and videos to other people’s posts. According to Instagram’s head, Adam Mosseri, this feature involves adding an “Add to post” button to the bottom left corner of the carousel post. Users can tap this button to upload their photos and videos, but the original post creator must approve them before they become part of the carousel.
Currently, Instagram’s carousel limit is up to 10 photos or videos. But whether this will increase currently remains under wraps. Once the feature rolls out to users, it will unveil more details.

Notably, Instagram already offers collaborative features, including the option to collaborate on posts with followers, allowing them to display the post on their profiles. Instagram has been actively introducing new collaboration features throughout the year, such as adding music to carousels, using an ‘Add Yours’ sticker to engage with creators, and the capability to save reels and photos with friends.
Moreover, a lot is happening at Instagram headquarters: the platform is planning to introduce a feature that would allow users to set a short or looping video as their profile picture in Notes. As per reports, Instagram aims to enhance user engagement with the introduction of these features.
