Meta-owned Instagram is working on bringing a personal assistant, powered by artificial intelligence. This could be more than a personal assistant, thanks to the option to customise it. For instance, one could change its gender, age, ethnicity, personality, and interests, as per a TechCrunch report.
For instance, one could create a music expert and ask it for a classic song suggestion from the 80’s. That’s how it will work. Or, a user could customise the chatbot as a history teacher and likely talk about a specific interest. It is to be noted that Instagram or Meta hasn’t officially confirmed this feature yet.
Per reports, Meta is working on this feature and with details remaining under wraps, it’s hard to say whether the feature is in development or we may never see something like that. Regardless of all odds, it is exciting to even know something like this could be there soon.
Those who don’t want to wait for this feature may try customising OpenAI’s ChatGPT until then. However, Instagram’s assistant will feel more humane.

Furthermore, Meta introduced its AI assistant, Meta AI, during its Connect launch event in September this year. It is available on WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram, and will soon be on Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses and Quest 3.
The AI is powered by custom models, technology from Llama 2, and the latest large language model (LLM) research. It provides real-time information in text-based chats through a Bing search partnership and offers image-generation tools. Additionally, Meta introduced 28 other AI chatbots with various personalities and backstories, partnering with cultural icons and influencers who will have profiles on social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook.
