HTech, the Madhav Sheth led VC behind Honor, is gearing to expand its portfolio beyond smartphones. The company will launch Honor branded wireless earbuds, Honor Choice Earbuds X5 and smartwatch, Honor Choice Watch, in India on February 15, the same day it releases its second smartphone, Honor X9b. The devices will be sold on e-commerce platform Amazon.
About the Honor Choice Earbuds X5, HTech said, they will “compliment” the X-series (Honor X90, Honor X9b) and focus on providing a “balanced and premium quality audio experience.” The company touts “cutting-edge 30dB ANC algorithms” and up to 35-hours of battery life (presumably with the case). They’ll also mark the debut of Honor’s AI space companion app.
The Honor Choice Watch will similarly debut the Honor Health app which will come bundled with the smartwatch. Spec-wise, it will come with a 1.95-inch AMOLED display and up to 12 days of battery life “under typical use.” It will have GPS built in which means you can leave your smartphone at home, and it will be able to keep tabs on your running and jogging. The smartwatch will support 120 workout modes and come with one-click SOS calling. The The Honor Choice Watch will be 5ATM rated which is to say that it will be able to take it with you while swimming.
The Honor X9b will be the third product launching on February 15. Its key USP will be its “ultra-bounce display” that is apparently so strong and durable, you might not even need to apply a tempered glass on it, ever, or at least that is what HTech’s product marketing team will have you believe. Elsewhere, the phone will have a 108-megapixel primary camera, a 5,800mAh battery, and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor under the hood.
