The Google Pixel 8a has received a price cut in India ahead of the purported launch of its successor, Pixel 9a, in the country. It’s not a small price cut either. Rather, it is massive. Flipkart, which is one of Google’s sale partners, is currently selling the Pixel 8a for Rs 15,000 less than its original price at launch.
Google Pixel 8a deal on Flipkart
The 128GB variant of the Pixel 8a was launched in India at a price of Rs 52,999. If you head over to Flipkart right about now, you can get it for Rs 15,000 less, i.e., for Rs 37,999. The 256GB variant is also available with Rs 15,000 discount which has brought the price down from Rs 59,999 t0 Rs 44,999. The Walmart-owned ecommerce platform notes the discount will come in the form of cashback/coupon.
Flipkart will offer an additional Rs 3,000 off on EMI purchases made using HDFC Bank Credit Card in case of both the 128GB and 256GB variants of the Google Pixel 8a.
Google Pixel 8a specs, features
Google Pixel 8a has a 6.1-inch Actua OLED display with a 1080p resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It comes with 8GB of LPDDR5x RAM. Battery capacity is 4,492mAh.
The Pixel 8a is powered by the Google Tensor G3 chip also allowing Google to offer up to seven years of software support. For photography, you get a dual camera setup on the rear with a 64-megapixel primary and 13-megapixel ultrawide. The front camera is 13-megapixel.
Google Pixel 9a launch (expected)
The Pixel 9a is widely expected to launch in mid-March with pre-orders set to kick off from March 19. The 9a will reportedly go on sale from March 26. Google is expected to launch the Pixel 9a in India at around the same time as global markets. Hardware-wise, it is likely to come with the Tensor G4, same chip seen inside the other Google Pixel 9 series devices.
