A collaborative freebie that nobody expected! Google is offering a full year of Adobe Photoshop Web completely free to select Chrome browser users. The limited-period promotion, quietly rolled out in several countries including India, turns the premium web version of the world’s most popular image-editing software into a zero-cost tool for eligible users until the end of 2026.

The offer appears automatically as a pop-up notification within Chrome for select users. Once claimed, the 12-month subscription is instantly applied to the linked Adobe account with no payment method required. Normally priced at approximately Rs 1,999 per month in India (or part of the Rs 4,999/month Adobe Creative Cloud Photography plan), the web version delivers core Photoshop features such as layers, generative fill powered by Adobe Firefly, precise selection tools, and non-destructive editing. Note that this will all be running within the browser, and you won’t need to download the application and install it separately.

How to activate a 1-year Adobe Photoshop Web in Google Chrome

– To activate the perk, users simply need to update Google Chrome to the latest version (130 or higher).

– Users then need to ensure they are signed into Chrome with a Google account.

– The next step involves visiting photoshop.adobe.com or opening a new tab and wait for the promotional banner to appear.

– Once the banner appears, click “Claim now” and sign in (or create) an Adobe ID.

– The banner typically shows up within minutes for qualifying accounts, though some users report seeing it only after clearing cache or restarting the browser.

Other requirements to get free Photoshop Web access

Google has not officially disclosed the exact eligibility parameters, but rumours suggest active Chrome users with a history of creative or productivity tab usage are prioritised. Once redeemed, the free subscription remains valid for 365 days regardless of future Chrome updates or device changes, as long as the same Adobe account is used.

After the promotional year ends, the subscription will auto-renew at the standard rate unless cancelled.

The promotion comes at a time when both companies are pushing cloud-first creative workflows. Photoshop Web has seen rapid feature growth in 2025, closing the gap with its desktop counterpart and making it a viable daily driver for designers, photographers, and social media creators on the move.

While the offer is currently live in India, the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and several European countries, Google has described it as a “limited-time celebration” with no fixed end date announced. Users who don’t see the banner immediately are advised to keep Chrome updated, as Google appears to be rolling it out in phases.

For students, educators, and professionals already subscribed to Creative Cloud, the free year stacks as additional time rather than overlapping, effectively extending paid plans.
