On Christmas Eve, Fortnite players across platforms—including PlayStation 5, Xbox, PC, Nintendo Switch, and mobile—experienced widespread connection problems. Reports from outage-monitoring sites such as Red94 indicate a significant surge in login failures and authentication errors. Many users saw messages like “An error occurred while connecting to Epic Servers” or “Unable to login to Fortnite Servers. Please try again later,” preventing access to the game.

The disruption is extensive, impacting all platforms that support Fortnite, from consoles to PCs. Although the game servers seem to be running normally, players continue to experience difficulties logging in. This indicates that the root cause is likely related to server-side issues rather than the game itself.

Fortnite down:

Monitoring platforms like Downdetector recorded a sharp increase in user-reported problems, with over 5,400 global reports of server connection issues on November 26 alone, alongside similar spikes on December 24 and 25.

Downdetector data:

Downdetector data showed that 57% of issues were linked to login failures, 37% to server connectivity problems, and 6% to in-game disruptions. The outages affected players worldwide, spanning North America, Europe, Asia, and other regions, confirming that the disruptions were not limited to any single platform or location.
