Social Media Platform Truth Social that is backed by the US President Donald Trump is in the news again. The platform has now released a new AI powered search engine named Truth Social AI. This new update comes in the midst of other larger social media platforms integrating AI chatbots and search engines within their app like Grok for X, Meta for Whatsapp and Instagram. The app is now gearing up for competition from big data firms like Google and Meta.

The AI search engine features are presently available on the web version of Truth Social, with the platform gearing up for its IOS and android a release. The beta version of the search engine went live recently additionally it was followed by an announcement from Trump Media & Technology Group.
The announcement stated that Truth Social has partnered with San Francisco-based Perplexity AI startup.
The reason behind this partnership is said to be that Perplexity offers an “Answer Engine” rather than a traditional search engine platform. Moreover Trump Media in a press release stated that Truth Social AI is intended to enhance the amount of information available to it’s users and the Platform itself.
Perplexity has rejected any requests to disclose the financial terms of the deal. Additionally the company clarified that Truth Social has complete control over how the tool is set-up. The clarification comes on the back of reports by The National, a UAE state owned outlet that answers given by Truth Social AI are relying frequently on conservative-leaning media houses like Epoch Times and Fox News.
