In a bid to enhance the cybersecurity landscape and foster innovation, the Delhi Police, in collaboration with CyberPeace, officially launched the Cyber Challenge 2024 at an event held at the Vimarsh Conference Hall, Police Headquarters in New Delhi. This initiative seeks to address the growing cybersecurity challenges in India by engaging developers, engineers, and cybersecurity enthusiasts in creating cutting-edge solutions to improve public safety and digital security.
The event saw the participation of several leading institutions, including Rashtriya Raksha University, Gujarat, DRDO, MeiTY, National Forensic Science University, Startup India, and renowned organizations such as CyberPeace Foundation and Uber India.
The challenge encourages participants to develop innovative and practical solutions using emerging technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality (AR/VR), blockchain, and quantum computing. The launch event underscored the importance of collaboration between technology innovators and law enforcement agencies to tackle cybercrime and create a secure digital environment for all citizens.
Special Commissioner of Police Vivek Gogia, during his speech, emphasised the increasing importance of technological innovation in law enforcement. He stressed that as cyber threats continue to evolve, law enforcement must not only adapt but actively innovate to stay ahead of the curve.
The Cyber Challenge 2024 is structured into three phases: registration, shortlisting, and the Grand Finale, which will take place in January 2025. Teams participating in the challenge are already submitting their proposals, which focus on solving real-world cybersecurity issues. The shortlisted teams will proceed to a 36-hour prototype development round, where they will create working models of their solutions. The final presentations and awards ceremony will mark the culmination of the challenge, where the most innovative and practical solutions will be recognized and rewarded.
The Delhi Police and CyberPeace aim to drive meaningful change in the field of cybersecurity through this collaborative effort. The initiative also provides a platform for young innovators and professionals to contribute their ideas and solutions towards making the digital space safer for everyone. Registrations for the Cyber Challenge 2024 are now open, and interested participants can visit the official website to register: https://www.cyberchallenge.in/.
