BSNL has introduced a new 4G service plan priced at just Rs 1 with a validity of one month, aiming to attract a larger user base. This comes on the heels of the telecom operator’s nationwide completion of its 4G network deployment. BSNL announced its new ‘Freedom Offer’ via its official X (formerly Twitter) account, promising users a taste of “true digital freedom” for just Re 1.
The plan, valid for 30 days, includes 2GB of high-speed data per day, unlimited voice calls across India with national roaming, and 100 complimentary SMS per day—all for a nominal recharge of Re 1.
BSNL Freedom Offer:
BSNL has launched its ‘Freedom Offer’ as a special, time-limited promotion in celebration of Independence Day. This plan will be up for grabs nationwide from August 1 to August 31.
To simplify onboarding for new users, BSNL is bundling a complimentary 4G SIM card with the offer. New subscribers won’t have to spend anything extra—just visit a nearby BSNL retailer or a Common Services Centre (CSC) to pick up the SIM and activate the plan.
After activation, users will receive 2GB of high-speed 4G data each day for a full 30-day period. Once the daily data cap is reached, connectivity will remain active but at a reduced speed of 40kbps, as per BSNL’s fair usage guidelines.
“Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) today (Friday) launched its much-anticipated ‘Freedom Plan’ — a limited-period Re 1 offer that gives users to test BSNL’s 4G mobile services for one full month. This initiative marks BSNL’s celebration of India’s Independence Day and offers citizens a chance to experience India’s own indigenously developed 4G technology at no cost,” the company said in a statement.
The package also offers unrestricted voice calls:
The package also offers unrestricted voice calls to any network along with 100 text messages per day, making it an ideal entry-level option for those planning to join the BSNL network.
